Title: Manga Fox
Author:  Many
Format:  Free Yaoi Manga
Length:  Varies
Rating: Varies from PG13 to NC17
Warnings: Keep an eye out for tentacles, cat boys and flower petal wind storms.
Link: http://www.mangafox.com/
Summary: A free online manga reader, Manga Fox has a huge collection includeing Shounen Ai, Gender Bender, Yaoi, and Doujinshi.

Review: In order to search the Manga Fox library, click on 'Manga Directory' at the top of the home page. Then click the orange  'Show Options' button to bring up the full list of manga genres. From there you can bring up the full list of yaoi titles and so on.

This is a great site. They update frequently, pages load quickly and the selection is large enough that you'll be able to always find something new to read. You can do cross searches on a specific writer or artist and every title on their website has a written summary- usually directly from the manga itself.

EDIT: Mangafox has updated their website and seems to have taken down "Yaoi" as a regular genre search option when you to 'Advanced Search.'  However, yaoi has not been taken off of the site- it's just a little harder to find now.

The easiest way to pull up the full list of Yaoi titles hosted on mangafox is by doing a search for a specific yaoi title. (I did a search for FAKE and it came up right away.) Click on the yaoi title so that the description page and chapter links come up. On the left hand side is a list noting the name of the manga, author, artist and the genre. The genre will still have 'Yaoi' listed and you can click on it to bring up the full list of yaoi titles.

I hope that helps!

Title: Cheat the Camera
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lynadyndyn
Format: Fiction
Length: 17,000+ words
Status: Complete
Rating: R
Summary: A story about the careers and relationship of a movie star and a comedian, and their relationship with the media.

Review: watching the Oscars reminded me of this one :3 It's cute and sweet and quite short, so it's great for a quick read. I just love get-together stories <3. Also! It's not in chronological order, so don't let the start fool you; they'll get to the beginning, eventually ;D

Sublunary

Title: Sublunary
Author: Sarah Terry and Reena Smith
Format: Webcomic
Length: Ah, I couldn't tell ya,
Status: Incomplete and staying that way, you're not going to be reading for the plot anyway.
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: In the future, women don't get to be interesting characters with speaking roles. Instead, we make guys look ridiculously girly and hope no one knows the difference. Also there is some little-boy sex in there, I think he's 14 and I don't know how old the other guy is.
Link: Here~

Summary: 500 years from now somethingorother blocks out the sun. Earth and all its inhabitants had to undergo drastic evolution to survive, so dudes have powers now! Along with the super awesome powers, though, an icky disease surfaced  and killed a bunch of folks. A government agency put a bunch of money into sexy scientists to find a cure, but they are planning on only giving it to those few rich people who can afford it. A rebel group isn't so hot on this idea and they want to... I'm not sure what they are trying to do, I'm pretty sure one of their missions would have completely destroyed all hope of coming up with the antidote... thus making it impossible for anyone to survive and not just the poor people. Huh.

Review: I'm not going to lie, I read it for the sex, the animation's kinda nifty too if you ignore the weird proportions. Full color all the time is fun, but it's clearly got some (to snatch a term from one of Jesse's blogs) yaoi logic going on.

P.S. Wow, this community got really big, really fast. Am rather impressed :)

Title: Canaan Falls
Author: Tsukizubon Saruko
Format: Shousetsu Bang*Bang Short Story
Length: 2 Chapters
Status: Complete
Rating: At least R
Warnings: This story has a pretty high creep factor going for it.  Hot cocoa and plenty of lights may be called for.
Link: http://s2b2.livejournal.com/60769.html
Summary: The first thing I thought when I saw Bobby Leonard again was that I had never expected to see him old. The Bobbys of the world followed James Dean's advice, and his example, I guess; they got shot holding up all-night liquor stores by some clerk who got lucky, plowed their beat-up Camaros through the guardrail out on the point, loaded up their arms with poison medicine for the pain of being crazy in a sane world or the other way around. They had closed-casket funerals with big blowups of their high school yearbook pictures on a stand, decked with flowers. You didn't expect them back at forty-five. Hell, you didn't expect them back at twenty-five....

Review: One of my all time Bang Bang favorites, Canaan Falls is the story of two childhood friends who have spent their lives trying to forget each other and the darkness they found one dusty summer, at the heart of their small town.  But now, years later, it seems Canaan Falls hasn't forgotten them.

This short story is nothing if not powerful.  Beautifully written and full of terribly realistic characters- Canaan Falls could be your own home town and it will remind you of that time when you knew the dark was full of monsters.  Monsters that knew your name.

Title: The Slave Breakers
Author: [livejournal.com profile] maculategiraffe
Format: Series
Length: Lots to read, 3 main stories and several ficlets
Status: Complete
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Slavefic, mentions of abuse (more warnings on the series index page)
Link: "The Slave Breakers" index page
Summary: These stories are set in a world parallel to ours-- modern, but different-- where the law is that adolescents can be sold into slavery on their fifteenth birthday to defray their parents' cost of living. Each story has it's own summary, series start with "Bran"

Review: This is a very high quality read, with deep and compelling characters. Don't let the slave thing scare you off, I'm not a big fan of slaves and BDSM myself but I really enjoyed this series and couldn't stop reading. I fell in love with all the characters from the start, and can't wait for her (the author) to start a new story and introduce a new character. This series is mainly about love, and how love and caring will pick you up from the hell you've been in and make you believe in life and people again. I highly recommend this series to those who like to read a deeper story, that will probably both make you cry and laugh - I know I did. Don't know what else to say about this. If there's anything more, please feel free to ask me :o)

PS. This is my first time, ever, posting an entry like this (had to go to FAQ's to find how to link and stuff) so if there's anything wrong, please feel free to correct it :oP. And Hi *waves* I'm delurking ;o) and 'cause English isn't my first language, please overlook any grammatical errors I make.

Metanoia

Title: Metanoia
Author: Jesse Hajicek
Format: Webcomic
Length: Um... lots?
Status: WIP
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Violence, language, sex, whatever. Really sad bits.
Link: http://metanoia.studiowhippingboy.com/
Petra's summary: Professional gun-for-hire Star Tyrian knows enough about Heaven and Hell to never want to go to either place. Yet when the God Mob comes recruiting, he doesn't say no. In a world of black and white, Star is all shades of gray; in a war of demons and angels, he is something else entirely.

Review: Yes, I know. This one kind of goes without saying. Has anyone here not read this? If you haven't, I suggest you do before the rest of us gather our forces and stone you to death. Fair warning, philistines. So, this is way more than just a gay webcomic. It comes with a free story line! Oh, and the art! Grayscale with full colour dream scenes and all of it thoroughly amazing! Metanoia doesn't need the gay to be great, but there's plenty of it and it sure is a tasty bonus. There are no semes and ukes here, just sexy men. And guns. And magic. And an incredibly hot incubus. Ooh, and some wizards! The characters are well developed, believeable and have great chemistry. This webcomic is funny, it is sad, it is exciting and it is sweet. If you don't read it we will come to your house and revoke your Slash License. You wouldn't like that.

One vote for mems from me. I'm actually going to wait for the other two inevitable votes out of some sense of good practice. The icon? Well, I would have just used my 'Wednesday's' icon, but it isn't quite Wednesday yet, so I went with another Petra inspired Metanoia icon...
