Title: The Komatsu Wombat and the Fantastical Anticlimax
Author: pixelnyx
Format: Webfiction
Length: Novella
Status: Complete

Summary:Apocalypse? What apocalypse?
The global community reels with the discovery of impending apocalypse – but even the sky falling can’t keep a good storyteller down. This is a future Australia where waiting for the end of the world has become a bit of a bore.
Set in Kalgoorlie’s SuperPit, grunt-level miner Katashi meets Arunta, the long-legged ruck rover of his dreams. Happily unreliable, Katashi tells his and Arunta’s story from before, through and after the end of the world.
A shade away from satire, this novella explores an anti-apocalypse genre, with apocalyptic and dystopian themes thriving smack bang in the middle of a constructed suburbia.
Review: A very well written, enjoyable little story. The characters have a very real feel to them, although, to me the narrators voice did sound a bit younger than he's supposed to be. The story's told out of order but still easy to follow and every chapter builds on things mentioned in previous ones.
Not actually sure if the romance tag really fits, since it ain't the main focus, but the main characters relationship is still an important part of the story.
I can only recommend to read this.
